Council adopts sidewalk snow clearing ordinance

NJ CLARK — Clark Council adopts sidewalk snow ordinance, housing framework. Unanimously passing Ordinance 26-05, effective March 23, the Council required property owners to clear sidewalks within 24 hours of snow ceasing. Two parking ordinances on Poplar Terrace passed first reading for March 16 hearing.
The Council appointed four attorneys assigned by its insurance funds for a civil rights lawsuit brought by Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin against the Township and three police officials, with the Township covering the first 100,000 dollars in defense costs. Unanimously voting six times, the Council endorsed an amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan addressing a 237-unit affordable obligation and approved use of 1.6 million dollars from the housing trust fund.
